Lancashire County Scientific Services launches new service

Lancashire County Council Scientific Services has added PAS110 analysis to the already extensive range of analytical services it offers to the waste industry. WASTE firms can now turn to a long-established local authority laboratory to certify the quality of fertiliser produced through anaerobic digestion.

Public Analyst Trainees Clear the First Hurdle

All three candidates who attempted the Part A examination of the Mastership in Chemical Analysis this year have been successful. Emma Downie and Sylwester Lukasik from Public Analyst Scientific Services and Simon Cull from Staffordshire Scientific Services took the exam in April 2013.

APA Educational Trust supports training for Official Food & Feed Labs

Another successful week long course organised by the APA Educational Trust was held at Reading in April / May 2013 and attracted 14 delegates. The majority of delegates were from Public Analyst Laboratories with 1 from a commercial laboratory and 1 from LGC. The teaching consisted of a mix of lectures; laboratory practical sessions and interactive exercises.
