  • Glasgow Scientific Services Modern Apprentice Receives Award

Rachel Lindsay, in her second year of a Modern Apprenticeship with Glasgow Scientific Services, recently scooped a prestigious award at the City’s “Apprentice of the Year” awards ceremony held in the city chambers. Rachel is one of four Modern Apprentices who were recruited to Glasgow Scientific Services in 2010 through the City’s “Commonwealth Apprentice Initiative”.

Apprentices work in the various sections of the laboratory to gain laboratory skills, and also attend college on a day-release basis working towards an HNC in Applied Science. It was Rachel’s successful progression through her day-release course that earned her the award, presented to her by The Leader of Glasgow City Council, Gordon Matheson.
