APA Conference 11th and 12th September 2014 in Cambridge
Conference this year is in idyllic Cambridge, a beautiful and inspirational place that remains one of the world’s leading centres for science. Conference is scheduled at a great time to visit the city. 12-14th September is Open Cambridge, in which numerous fantastic libraries, gardens, museums and historic buildings normally closed to the public open up for everyone to see. Last year included the Whipple Museum for the History of Science, the Sainsbury Laboratory and the Queens’ College Old Library.
Cambridge has much to offer to visitors: have a pint at the Eagle where Watson and Crick announced the discovery of DNA or by the river watching rowing crews go past, wander over the Wooden (‘Mathematical’) Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs, see Newton’s apple tree, eat cakes where the Bloomsbury group used to hang out or scoff a sticky bun at Fitzbillies, have a kickabout at Parker’s Piece where the rules of football were drawn up, stroll through the Botanic Gardens or check out the art at the Fitzwilliam Museum. The following information is intended to assist delegates who might want to extend their stay in Cambridge or who require double room accommodation.
