Government Chemist Review, 2006.

The Government Chemist has published his annual review for the year 2006.

The Government Chemist Laboratory is responsible for providing independent analytical science through its role as referee analyst. This helps to resolve or avoid disputes between traders and UK enforcement authorities, particularly in the food chain sector where Public Analysts provide the technical backup for the local authorities. The Government Chemist's wider remit includes developing advice for the UK Government and the analytical community on sound science in relation to policy, standards and regulation.
