Tayside Scientific Services Joins RSC Partnership Programme
Tayside Scientific Services has recently joined the RSC Partnership Programme and this fact was suitably highlighted on 13th August when Andrew Scott (RSC Membership Sales & Marketing Manager) visited the laboratory to present the official plaque and certificate to Jane Couper, Head of Service.
"I am absolutely delighted that Tayside Scientific Services has become the first publicly owned laboratory to join the programme", Andrew commented, before expressing the hope that other labs would follow and thus greatly strengthen the relationship between the RSC and its members working in this vital area of public safety.
While in Dundee, as well as touring the lab and meeting the staff, Andrew spent time discussing the programme over lunch. He and Jane also talked about a number of areas where the two organisations could work together now and into the future. He seemed very impressed with the facilities and the number of staff who are Chartered Chemists, or working towards the qualification and also of the number of MChemA candidates the lab has, in relation to its total staff complement
Jane added: "Andrew appeared very keen for PA labs to be involved in this programme, which is still in the early stages. He stressed that the RSC is open to suggestions on ways to develop it and to explore mutually beneficial ideas. Given the already strong links with the RSC via the MChemA, it would seem to be something other labs might consider."
