Association of Public Analysts Annual Conference 30-31 October 2008
Public Analysts carry out chemical and microbiological testing of foods in laboratories throughout the UK on behalf of the consumer.
Members of the Association will be joined by delegates from the Food Standards Agency, Laboratory of the Government Chemist and Central Scientific Laboratories.
The theme of the first day of conference is chocolate and wine with presentations on the history of chocolate manufacture and modern methods of analysis followed by an overview of wine production in the UK. An officer from the Wine Standards Branch of FSA will talk about the law related to wine and this will be followed by a wine tasting. The second day will be focussing upon methods of detecting food adulteration, microbiology of food and food enforcement issues within the UK
