Government Chemist Completes Study into Methods for the Determination of Folate in Food

The Laboratory of the Government Chemist has carried out a study to determine the effects of different extraction techniques on the apparent content of folate in foods. Alpha-amylase, protease and folyl deconjugases were evaluated. A trienzyme extraction was found to give the highest apparent folate content.
